First Development Update!
I started making this game for the indie game design contest after I saw it on humble bundle. I had been kicking around the idea of doing a sequel to an old Newgrounds game I made back in the day. The original game was called BearBound. (Google that and prepare for hairy porn.)
In BearBound you were a homeless bear wandering around looking for items in the environment that would trigger different endings, and every few seconds there was a blizzard that forced you to find shelter. It was a very quick game but was well received. So I started developing this as a more robust version of that. But as I worked on hashing out the story the main character, and the character I had the most fun with was the bear's raccoon sidekick.
So I rearranged some stuff and made the raccoon the protagonist in my new game. It is quite a departure from the original. It has exploration in it but it now has a lot more in common with Pokemon and Megaman Battle Network than the original game. I'm going for a style of humor that hearkens to an edgier version of old Lucas Arts games.
It's far from done, but there will be at least a demo available by the end of this month for the contest deadline.
